Heco wood cookstoves are manufactured by the Amish in Lancaster County, PA - original Amish country.

The model 520 is a wood and coal burning cooking and heating range built to quality Amish standards with 18 gauge plate steel stove body, and 1/4" thick cooktop with reinforced steel frame. The 520 wood & coal burning stove with baking oven is designed with functionality, and ease of use in mind. The firebox door comes in either solid door, or a glass window with a large viewing area, so you can see a first class view of the blazing fire. The oven is also available with a solid insulated door or glass door option for the ability to view your baked goods without opening the door!

All Heco cook stoves meet WA State Standards. All Wood Burning Cook Stoves are currently EPA Exempt from regulations.

In late 2020,  I replaced a gas-operated living room fireplace with the Heco 520 cookstove in order to better prepare a 2,400 sqft single-level home for living under extreme conditions. I had no wood stove experience and relied solely upon Obadiah's recommendations and my local chimney contractor. I used only the 520 to comfortably heat (72Ëš) the entire house for 30 days in 2020. During the 2021 winter, the 520 again had no problem heating the entire house. Except for the normally heat-discolored cooktop, the stove remains in perfect condition. The 520 operation is easy to understand. The door glass cleans spotlessly with minimal labor using a soft, cotton cloth dipped in distilled vinegar then cooled ashes. I probably will not use the cooking or water-heating features unless I face emergency conditions, but I expect that they will work perfectly. Quality workmanship is worth the long wait.

We have had many cookstoves in our long life and this Heco 520 is hands down the best there is. It is one of the few with a secondary combustion design and that is the clue to its appeal as that feature squeezes the most efficiency out of the wood. The glass doors stay clean as long as you keep the firebox temperature where it belongs. The door and gasket design in a wonderful feature and we have yet to replace it after about 3 years. It puts out a lot of heat,  and setback distances need to be respected. The quality of construction is top notch, It is exceedingly heavy. The temperature this morning  was -29 and this big black beauty had the house warm in no time flat.  I doubt there is a better cookstove in the world. Obediahs is a great organization to deal with.
