5 of 5 Could not be happier! March 8, 2021
Reviewer: Greg B. from Maine
Hi, from sunny Maine,

We received our stove on Friday and got it in the house on Saturday, and have had some time to try it out. We have almost exclusively burned wood to heat our homes for over 40 years and have used at least 5 stoves over that time.

Thoughts so far:

Wow! Does it get hot! And fast! And the soapstone holds a good amount of the heat that isn’t already stored in the body of the stove.
Very efficient burn with a minimum of ash; something we are not used to with the last stove of about 40-50% efficiency.
Boiled a large pot of water in about 10 minutes; we’ll be careful about that.
Muffins, a loaf of bread, and reheating frozen foods in the oven were no problem; in fact, easier than we have anticipated.  I switched the muffin pans 3 times during baking, but think that just twice will be enough next time.
Holds a load of wood for overnight heating; at least 7 hours, and we’ll see how this goes with more experience. We are burning all oak, maple, or birch here.
Delivery was okay.  The driver was able to easily back up our driveway and unload into my pickup.  Although he was almost 2 hours late, he was very nice and let us mostly unpack it to make sure the soapstone was intact, and everything looked in order.
We could not be happier so far, even my skeptical wife!

We’ll keep in touch as time goes by.  This has been a very positive experience so far.
